Meet the Headmaster

Chesterton Academy is pleased to introduce John DeJak as its first headmaster. John comes to us with impeccable credentials and is ideally suited to take on the formidable task of guiding the school through its early growth.

He is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago where he was a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship. He received a law degree from the Ave Maria School of Law in 2004, and from 2004 to 2007 served in the U.S. Army with the Judge Advocate General’s Corps at Fort Drum, New York.

John has taught Latin, Theology, Church History and Ecclesiology at Catholic high schools in Chicago and Cleveland, and has also worked as a legal intern for the St. Thomas More Society. Beginning with his undergraduate days until the present, he has been very involved in pro-life activities.

He and his wife Annie have five children.

His classical learning and teaching experience is essential for us. His legal training will be very useful to us (and cost-saving!) His military training and experience adds a dimension that is more than we could hope for. Besides all that, he is very familiar with the writings of G.K. Chesterton, which is not going to be unimportant!

Feel free to contact John.
