As a freshman at Franciscan University, I can easily connect what I’m learning here with what I learned at Chesterton Academy. For example, in my Political Science class, we are learning about philosophers such as Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Machiavelli, and many others we covered in Philosophy and History class at Chesterton Academy. I’m finding myself helping other students in my Philosophy class to get into the swing of reading Plato, and reading Thomas Aquinas in my Theology course. Although the homework load here is very heavy and the work is difficult, I’m not feeling overwhelmed. I attribute that largely to my academic background at Chesterton. Thank you to all of you. God bless Chesterton Academy!
Paige Heinen, Class of 2014
Paige attends Franciscan University of Steubenville
After high school, you are on your own with no one to tell you what to do or when. It’s scary and exciting at the same time. But I knew I was prepared for what life had in store for me by the education and spiritual strength I received from Chesterton Academy. Chesterton provides a family-like environment in which students grow into young Catholic adults ready to face the world.
Laine Phillips, Class of 2012
Laine attends the University of Nebraska and is in the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps
Chesterton Academy prepared me not only for college, through its exceptional academics, but for life. If you’re looking for an academically rigorous institution where the Catholic faith is a priority, look no further than Chesterton Academy.
Joshua Romportl, Class of 2012
Joshua attends the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and is an Evans Scholar
Facing challenging classes in high school made it easier to shoulder the college work-load. Chesterton’s atmosphere of joy and community, and the small class sizes, meant teachers were able to attend to my personal growth as a student. I never had to be afraid to ask questions.
Hannah Korman, Class of 2012
Hannah attends the University of Dallas and is a TwinWest Foundation Scholarship winner
Chesterton Academy taught me a greater understanding of the world. I learned of the great philosophers and theologians such as Plato, Aristotle and Aquinas. I learned of the very chemistry, math and physics of the world we live in. I learned of beauty and its great influence through art, music and theater. I learned the great story of man through history and literature. Chesterton Academy taught me about the world but more importantly how to be a man of God in it.
Gino Charmoli, Class of 2012
Gino attends the University of Mary and is currently studying in Rome.
Chesterton Academy taught me the importance of searching for truth, especially with respect to the Catholic Church. This knowledge led me to a university where I believe I can further this search, and prepare not only for a career, but for becoming a fulfilled person.
Theresa Blackman, Class of 2012
Theresa attends the University of Dallas and is a National Merit Scholarship Winner. She is currently studying in Rome.
Chesterton Academy prepared me for college academically, but it also prepared me to live out and defend my Catholic Faith. At Chesterton Academy, I was spoiled because our faculty faithfully follows the teachings of the Catholic Church, and the Catholic faith is incorporated into every subject. I am now attending a secular university and must continually stand up for what I believe. Chesterton Academy, my wonderful family, and the grace of God have made it possible for me to thrive not only academically, but also spiritually, in this environment.
